I would love to share something that I plan on doing next month with my Mary Kay Business. I am planning on doing something called "Adopt a Grandparent" for Christmas. I would like to put in a little disclaimer that I did not come up with this on my own. Below I will in a roundabout way telling you what goes on for this program by how I am doing it (which is in a way like the sheet from the program gives you an idea of how to do it). This idea is off a page that my Director has made for her unit. I wish I could directly show you were it is on the webpage that my Director made but it is on a part of the website that is for Mary Kay Consultants only.
What I am planning on doing for this is I will be asking my family, friends, and going around to local businesses in Pittsburg (No I did not spell that wrong lol) if they would like to buy a gift for an elderly person (aka grandparent) in the nursing home that I am partnering with. The gift that I am putting together for this is the Mary Kay Mint Bliss Energizing Lotion for feet and the Mary Kay Fragrance Free Satin Hands Cream. This little gift is great because it can be given to both males and females.
The reason why I am doing this is because I know that not all of the elderly that are living in the nursing home gets a gift from their families like others do in the nursing home. By doing this, not only do I feel like I am giving back to a generation that has provided us with their wisdom, but it gives me a chance to at least brighten someone's day. I really hope that when I do this, that it is successful. If it is successful, I will definitely be planning on doing it again next Christmas. But I wouldn't be doing it in the same town because I will be graduating in May 2014.
